The 2008 Plan

Purposes, Goals, Objectives, Strategies for 2008

Purpose:
To build a strong sense of community among Greenmeadow residents and members.

Goals:
  1. To have as many as possible of the 270 households in Greenmeadow join GMCA and participate actively in GMCA.
  2. To have a sufficient number of Associate members join GMCA each year to enable GMCA to reach its yearly target of swim members.

Objectives:
  1. Build residents’ and members’ awareness and understanding of the benefits of being members of GMCA.
    Strategy:
    1. Continue Welcome Committee activities, along with new resident profiles
    2. Write a member news column that appears regularly in the Meadowlark
    3. Write to non-members encouraging them to join GMCA
    4. Coordinate annual GMCA Holiday Open House.
  2. Maintain a sufficient number of people on the Associate member wait list by July each year to enable GMCA to meet its yearly target of Full Swim and Associate members.
    Strategy:
    1. Distribute information to people and groups outside Greenmeadow who are likely to join GMCA as Associate members.
  3. Conduct in concert with the GMCA Administrative Manager a successful membership renewal drive each year and document the process.
    Strategy:
    1. Maintain and execute a task and timeline schedule.
  4. Review the functions of the Membership Committee and equitably divide the functions among Committee members.
    Strategy:
    Fill functions of
    1. co-leaders
    2. secretary
    3. welcome committee chair
    4. new resident profile writer
    5. Meadowlark member news editor
    6. Holiday Open House coordinator;
  5. Educate prospective home buyers, renters and real estate agents about the advantages of the Greenmeadow community, with emphasis on participation in GMCA.
    Strategy:
    1. Distribute GMCA flyers to Greenmeadow homeowners and their listing agents when Greenmeadow homes are put on the market.
  6. Follow up with new residents, including owners and renters, to ensure their continuing participation in GMCA.
    Strategy:
    1. Encourage new residents through phone calls, e-mails and face to face interactions to participate in GMCA activities.
  7. Recommend to the GMCA Board revisions in policies or by-laws that would bring about changes or improvements in the Greenmeadow community supported by the GMCA membership.
    Strategy:
    1. Solicit annually from members ideas for changes or improvements.
  8. Review and respond to requests from individual GMCA members for consideration of special circumstances regarding their memberships that are not spelled out in GMCA by-laws or Board policies, and report the Committee’s decisions to the GMCA Board and Executive Director.
    Strategy:
    1. Allot time at Committee meetings for reaching decisions regarding requests for consideration of special circumstances so that member needs are met in a timely manner.
  9. Review possible modifications in GMCA membership options.
    Strategy:
    1. Maintain an updated set of membership decision rules
