Objectives and Goals
The Aquatics Committee is formed to recommend policies to the Board to ensure that the operation of the pool represents the broad interests of its entire user community: families, lap swimmers, swim team, seniors, and youth.
The committee is a policy committee and is not involved in overseeing or actively participating in the operation or management of the pool itself. The Committee will work closely with the Executive Director and should include the Executive Director in its meetings, but the Executive Director is not supervised or directed by the Committee.
The major objectives of the Aquatics Committee are to review and recommend to the Board:
• Prioritization of the use of the pool and recommendations for pool hours
• Pool rules or amendments to pool rules
• Guidelines for pool rentals
• Programming and policies at the pool to determine its appeal and relevance to the community’s demographics
• Coordinate with the Facilities committee to research and recommend capital improvements to the pool infrastructure and grounds

- GM is a community pool. A community pool is defined as a facility that attempts to meet a broad cross-section of community needs. These include lap swim, adult swim, swim team, swim lessons, recreational swim, and special activities.
- Community pool does NOT mean that the pool is open to every swim member at all times. There will be times where only a sub-section of the membership can use the pool. These times will be posted in advance.
- The pool schedule will be regularly posted on the Aquatics website, outside the pool enclosure and within the pool enclosure.
