GM AQUATIC COMMITTEE

MISSION AND FUNCTIONS

The Aquatics Committee is formed to recommend policies to the Board to insure that the operation of the pool represents the broad interests of its diverse users: families, lap swimmers, swim team, seniors, and youth.

The committee is a policy committee and is not involved in overseeing or actively participating in the operation or management of the pool itself.  The Committee will work closely with the Executive Director and should include the Executive Director in its meetings, but the Executive Director is not supervised or directed by the Committee.

The major functions of the Aquatics Committee are to review and recommend to the Board:

• Prioritization of the use of the pool

• Pool rules or amendments to pool rules

• Guidelines for pool rentals

• Programming and policies at the pool to determine its appeal and relevance to the community’s demographics

• Coordinate with the Facilities committee to research and recommend capital improvements to the pool infrastructure and grounds
